Arlene’s Grocery

Before this rock club came along in the 1990s, there was nowhere in the Lower East Side to see young, struggling bands playing their hearts out for free. Some good bands do still perform here however, and drinks remain cheap. It can get crowded on the weekends, and the upstairs bar serves some great drinks and offers good company.
